The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bosome Freho in the Ashanti Region,Hon. Charles Appiah Kubi, has announced his decision to fully cover the cost of nomination forms for all aspirants in the upcoming branch elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) within the constituency.

The initiative, described as a move to promote inclusivity and grassroots participation, will benefit all eligible applicants seeking to contest various positions in the party’s internal electoral process.

According to a public notice issued under the Bosome Freho Constituency, Hon. Appiah Kubi emphasized that the gesture is aimed at removing financial barriers that may hinder committed party members from contesting for leadership roles.

“It’s free,” the statement boldly declared, underscoring his commitment to ensuring equal opportunity for all aspirants regardless of their economic background.

The timeline for the elections has also been outlined. The picking of nomination forms, which will be conducted online, is scheduled to take place from May 2 to May 16, 2026. This will be followed by the branch elections, set to run from May 20 to June 2, 2026.

Political observers in the Ashanti Region say the intervention could significantly boost participation and competitiveness in the internal elections, while strengthening the party’s grassroots structures ahead of future national contests.
