The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Nsuta Kwamang Beposo, Victor Osei-Poku, has called on party members and supporters to bury their differences, close ranks and work together towards reclaiming political power in the 2028 general elections.
He said unity, discipline and collective commitment would be critical to the party’s quest to wrest the presidency from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and improve its electoral performance in the Nsuta Kwamang Beposo Constituency.
Mr. Osei-Poku stressed that the party could only achieve its electoral objectives if members remained united, strengthened cooperation at the grassroots and supported whoever emerged as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the next general election.
According to him, the task ahead required a united front, with all party faithful putting aside personal interests and internal disagreements to pursue the broader objective of securing victory for the NPP.
He urged members to focus on rebuilding the party’s structures, deepening collaboration among the rank and file and mobilising support across the constituency ahead of the crucial 2028 polls.
The constituency chairman made the appeal during a series of courtesy visits to three paramount chiefs in the constituency as part of efforts to introduce himself and the newly elected constituency executives to the traditional authorities.
The delegation paid visits to the Nsutamanhene, Kwamanmanhene and Beposomanhene, where the party leadership formally presented the new executive team and outlined its commitment to working with stakeholders to advance the development of the constituency.
UNITY AGENDA
Mr. Osei-Poku’s appeal for unity comes as the NPP prepares for the 2028 general elections, with the party expected to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation and consolidate support in constituencies across the country.
He emphasised that electoral victory would require more than individual efforts, insisting that party members must work together and demonstrate a shared commitment to the NPP’s fortunes.
He further called for stronger collaboration among constituency executives, polling station officers, electoral area coordinators, former party officers and supporters to ensure effective organisation and mobilisation.
The chairman underscored the importance of rallying behind the party’s eventual parliamentary candidate, regardless of individual preferences during the internal selection process.
He maintained that the party’s collective interest must take precedence over personal ambitions, adding that members must be prepared to work together after the parliamentary primaries to improve the party’s chances at the general election.
The objective, he indicated, was not only to reclaim the presidency but also to increase the number of votes secured by the NPP’s parliamentary candidate in the constituency.
ENGAGEMENT WITH TRADITIONAL AUTHORITIES
Beyond the party’s electoral preparations, Mr. Osei-Poku highlighted the importance of maintaining cordial relationships with traditional authorities, describing them as key stakeholders in community leadership, peacebuilding and development.
He explained that the courtesy visits were intended to establish a working relationship between the newly elected constituency executives and the traditional leadership, while providing an opportunity for the party officials to pay their respects to the chiefs.
According to him, traditional authorities occupy an important position in the development of communities and their involvement in local affairs can help promote understanding, cooperation and peaceful coexistence.
He noted that sustained engagement with the chiefs would enable the party leadership to better appreciate the concerns and development priorities of the communities under their traditional jurisdictions.
Mr. Osei-Poku further indicated that building mutual trust and maintaining open communication with traditional leaders were necessary steps towards strengthening relationships between political stakeholders and the communities they sought to serve.
COMMITMENT TO CONSTITUENCY DEVELOPMENT
The visits also provided an opportunity for the newly elected constituency executives to formally introduce themselves to the traditional authorities and reaffirm their commitment to the progress and development of Nsuta Kwamang Beposo.
The delegation acknowledged the relevance of traditional institutions in promoting community development and expressed its readiness to maintain constructive engagement with the chiefs on matters affecting the constituency.
The engagement formed part of efforts by the new constituency leadership to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and establish a foundation for cooperation on issues of common interest.
The executives are expected to work towards consolidating the party’s organisational structures while engaging community leaders and other stakeholders as part of their broader responsibilities.
The chairman’s call for unity, coupled with the engagement with the three paramount chiefs, signals an emphasis on internal cohesion, stakeholder relations and grassroots organisation as the NPP looks towards the 2028 general elections.
For Mr. Osei-Poku, the immediate priority remains bringing party members together, strengthening cooperation within the constituency and preparing the ground for an improved electoral performance in the next general election.
