The Chief of Staff, Dr Julius Debrah, has attended the final funeral rites of the late father of former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
Dr Debrah joined family members, friends, political associates and sympathisers at the funeral ceremony to mourn and pay their last respects to the deceased.
His presence at the ceremony was seen as a gesture of solidarity with Mr Ofosu Ampofo and his family at a time of bereavement.
The funeral brought together a number of personalities from across the political spectrum, particularly members and supporters of the NDC, who gathered to honour the memory of the late father of the former National Chairman.
Dr Debrah, who served as Chief of Staff under the previous NDC administration and currently occupies the same position under the administration of President John Dramani Mahama, took time to interact with the bereaved family and other mourners.
The attendance of the Chief of Staff also underscored the strong relationship between him and Mr Ofosu Ampofo, a prominent figure within the NDC who has played significant roles in the party’s political activities over the years.
Mr Ofosu Ampofo, a former National Chairman and former Director of Elections of the NDC, has been a key figure in the party’s organisational and political structures.
The funeral ceremony provided an opportunity for party stalwarts, government officials, traditional leaders, friends and well-wishers to express their condolences to him and the entire family.
Mourners prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased and urged the bereaved family to remain strong and united as they come to terms with their loss.
The presence of Dr Debrah at the final funeral rites reflects the tradition of political leaders and public officials standing with colleagues and their families during moments of grief, irrespective of the demands of public office.
The ceremony ended with mourners bidding farewell to the deceased and offering their continued support and prayers to the Ofosu Ampofo family.
