Former Afigya Kwabre South Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has pledged to rebuild and strengthen the Ashanti Regional branch of the party after successfully passing the party’s vetting process to contest the regional chairmanship.
The second-time aspirant expressed confidence in winning the upcoming election, saying he possesses the experience, commitment and vision needed to reunite the party and position it for victory in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking to journalists shortly after his clearance by the vetting committee, COKA said the Ashanti Region requires a leadership that prioritises action, unity and effective organisation rather than empty rhetoric.
According to him, his administration will be guided by the philosophy of “more action, less noise; more progress, less speeches; less jokes and more work.” He stressed that the party’s structures must be revitalised to restore the confidence of members and enhance grassroots mobilisation across the region.
Having picked number one on the ballot, COKA said he is fully prepared to lead the party into a new era of discipline, transparency and teamwork.
He noted that rebuilding the NPP would require the collective efforts of executives, polling station officers, electoral area coordinators, constituency executives and party supporters.
“We must work together, decide together, think together, enjoy together and suffer together if we are to achieve our common objective,” he stated.
COKA explained that unity remains the party’s greatest strength and pledged to create an environment where every member would have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the party.
Touching on the 2028 general election, he said the NPP’s foremost objective is to reclaim political power and that the Ashanti Region must once again play its traditional role as the party’s electoral stronghold.
He pledged to employ every legitimate strategy to increase the party’s presidential votes while working to secure additional parliamentary seats for the NPP across the region.
The former constituency chairman also assured delegates that his campaign would remain decent, issue-based and focused on policies rather than personal attacks.
He further pledged to vigorously defend the interests of the party, protect its grassroots structures and effectively counter the National Democratic Congress (NDC) through strong organisation and strategic mobilisation.
COKA expressed optimism that with unity, hard work and dedicated leadership, the Ashanti Regional branch of the NPP would emerge stronger and better positioned to lead the party back to power in the 2028 general elections.
