The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. George Mireku Duka and the District Chief Executive for Afigya KWABRE South in the Ashanti Region,Hon Christian Adu Poku have paid a working visit to quarry sites in the area.
The deputy minister used the visit to familiarize himself with Quarry activities in the area.
The minister visited all Quarry sites to inspect the extent of encroachment within the Quarry zones.
At a press briefing after the inspection, he commended the DCE,Hon.Christian Adu Opoku (APC)and the Assembly together with the Quarry Directors as being the pacesetters in the establishment of the Quarry Development Fund, QDF.
The Afigya KWABRE South Quarry Development Fund was launched somewhere in December,2019 with the aim of using the well endowed natural resources in the District for developmental purposes.
The DCE said during the launch of the Quarry Development Fund that, encroachment on Quarry zones were alarming which he said was not the best.
