Don’t spare Politicians, Chiefs , Religious leaders, Foreigners who are involved in Galamsey activities- Anti Galamsey Advocate begs Akufo Addo

An Anti Galamsey Advocate / Campaigner is appealing to His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo through the ministry of Lands and Natural Resources not to shield any Politician, Traditional Ruler , Religious leader and foreigner who is deeply involved in illegal mining activities in the country .

According to Mr Isaac Kobina Ochem who is also an Occupational health and safety professional, the rate at which illegal mining activities has caused total pollution to most of the river / water bodies , our forest reserves and the entire environment is so alarming.

As an Anti Galamsey Advocate / Campaigner i have travelled to almost all the mining areas in the country and the level of mess created by these illegal miners is very annoying .

Information gathered when i visited most communities within Western, western north , eastern, ashanti and central regions where illegal mining are mainly operated revealed that politicians, chiefs , religious leaders and foreigners who own most of the illegal mining concessions.
It also came out during interactions i had with some residents of these mining communities established that the foreigners from our neighbouring African countries as well as the Chinese are being led mostly by the politicians especially those whose political party in government , a very pathetic situation.

As an Anti Galamsey Advocate / Campaigner the Operations Halt military task force team headed by Col. Amoah Ayisi and his competent men are clamping down on the illegal miners which they have over the period chalked numerous successes in their operational activities.
The effort of the Operations Halt military task force team must be commended for arresting illegal miners who have taken over the country’s forest reserves and our river / water bodies.
I am appealing to the government to let Col. Amoah Ayisi and his task force team constantly embark upon their task to arrest these illegal miners.

I am by these making an appeal to the government through the Lands and Natural Resources ministry not to spare anyone deeply involved in the illegal mining act so that our river / water bodies and our various forest reserves can remain as it .
