In a heartfelt gesture, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, on behalf of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has donated GHC 160,000 to support the victims of the recent Odumasi explosion. This generous contribution aims to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the tragic incident.

The donation is allocated as follows:

– GHC 150,000 for affected households that have suffered significant losses

Dr. Amoakohene has also instructed the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to mobilize emergency relief for the affected individuals and families. Furthermore, he has charged the security services to promptly investigate the incident, ensuring justice and preventing future occurrences.

Preliminary reports suggest that the explosion was caused by illegally traded dynamite within the community, resulting in extensive property damage and injuries. This incident has raised concerns over illegal mining activities and the unsafe handling of explosives in residential areas.

During his visit, Dr. Amoakohene expressed deep sympathy for the victims and reaffirmed H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to supporting affected communities and ensuring stricter enforcement of safety regulations.

Local authorities have commended the swift intervention, urging residents to cooperate with security agencies as investigations continue. This donation and immediate relief efforts demonstrate the government’s dedication to protecting lives, supporting victims, and preventing future tragedies.

As the community begins to rebuild, this generous donation serves as a beacon of hope and solidarity. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, and we wish them a speedy recovery.
