Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 Vice Presidential candidate, also known as Napo, has demonstrated his commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society through a generous donation of food items to mental health patients and children in need. On Monday, June 9, 2025, Dr. Prempeh visited the Edweanse Rehabilitation Center, Cheshire Rehabilitation Home, and the Kumasi Children’s Home, distributing essential provisions to those in care.
The donation included a substantial quantity of food items, such as rice, maize, beans, sugar, gari, tinned tomatoes, cooking oil, canned meat, soft drinks, and biscuits. This gesture is part of Dr. Prempeh’s ongoing support for these facilities, which he has been providing for twenty years. His contributions have not only included food but also other vital necessities like medication, sandals, and books.
During his visit to the Kwadaso Edweanse Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Prempeh reflected on his long-standing commitment to helping those in need. He expressed his gratitude to God for enabling him to support others and pledged to continue visiting and providing assistance.
The management and staff of the facilities visited expressed their heartfelt gratitude for Dr. Prempeh’s generosity. Rita Adjei, Manager of the Edweanse Rehabilitation Center, commended Dr. Prempeh’s selfless acts, emphasizing that his support is not driven by political motives but rather a genuine desire to make a positive impact. Harriet Osei-Wusu, Public Health Officer at Cheshire Rehabilitation Home, echoed this sentiment, describing Dr. Prempeh as a reliable and supportive partner. Cletus Frimpong Osei Kwarteng, Assistant Manager of the Kumasi Children’s Home, also thanked Dr. Prempeh for his kindness and consideration towards the children.
This act of kindness underscores Dr. Prempeh’s dedication to giving back to the community and highlights the importance of compassion and support for vulnerable populations.
