A 30-year-old commercial driver, Kwadwo Yeboah, has been killed at Kotwi-Nkoransa in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region after he attempted to chase suspected robbers.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Friday, August 28. According to his partner, Martha, they heard shouts alerting residents to the presence of robbers in the area. Yeboah reportedly rushed out to join others in pursuing the suspects, despite her efforts to stop him.

Reports indicate that the suspects managed to evade the chasing group and hid in the dark. They later attacked Yeboah when they found him alone, butchering him to death.

His murder is the second such case recorded in the town in less than a month, a development that is raising concerns about growing insecurity in the area. On July 27, 2026, a 35-year-old taxi driver, Kwabena Awuah, was also allegedly murdered by unknown assailants in his vehicle at the same locality.

A journalist with Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio, Kwame Awuah Nimfour, confirmed that the latest incident has been reported to the police, who have commenced investigations to apprehend the culprits.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
