To fulfill his campaign promise of engaging the public on improving Ghana’s education system—particularly the Free SHS policy—President Mahama appointed an eight-member committee on February 2, 2025, to organize the National Education Forum.
The committee, chaired by former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Professor George K. T. Oduro, includes distinguished educationists and policymakers such as Professor Goski Alabi, Professor Rosemary Bosu, Samuel Awuku, Ph.D., and Professor Smile Dzisi. The other members are Kofi Asare, Stephen Owusu, and Inusah Shiraz.
Under its Terms of Reference (TOR), the Planning Committee has been tasked with developing a guiding theme, identifying key stakeholders, and formulating a structured agenda. The committee is also responsible for selecting a venue, setting up a secretariat, and preparing a budget for the forum.Ghanaian culture-inspired products
With a two-week deadline to submit its report and strategic plan, the committee is expected to lay the groundwork for policy decisions aimed at strengthening Ghana’s education system.
