A political aide to a parliamentary aspirant of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu Constituency, has run into trouble with the law – in the grips of the police.

Dominic Danquah, who would not tolerate any person, he considers not to be a fan of the man he is working for, Mr. John Kumah, is being held by the KNUST Police over alleged threats on the life of a student.

He has reportedly been threatening and trailing the complainant – Nana Osei Bonsu, somebody he perceives to be opposed to his preferred candidate.

The complainant claims the suspect has been secretly following him, and he is afraid of his life.

“Whenever, I pull up, he will also park either a motorbike or vehicle, not far from my car.

“He has also been asking friends about my place of residence and it will be foolhardy to ignore or take things for granted.”

Police Inspected Eric Agrah, the Investigator, confirmed Danquah’s arrest and said they had taken his caution statement.

He would be put before court as soon as they were done with their investigations.

The race for the Ejisu NPP parliamentary ticket is between the incumbent, Mr. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, and Mr. Kumah and there is uneasy calm in the party.

The cracks appear to be deepening, highlighting the fault-lines in the constituency party.
