In a bid to safeguard government revenue, the Chief of Ejura Divisional Council, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, has taken decisive action against individuals allegedly stealing government revenue at the Ejura Market Square.

The chief, supported by his wise elders, has been monitoring the situation closely and has detected that some individuals have been misappropriating funds from the market without accounting to the Municipal Assembly.

The Ejura Market Square, situated on a vast land provided by the chief for its development, was expected to generate significant revenue for the government. However, due to mismanagement, the market has failed to meet its revenue potential.

Determined to address this issue, the chief has been engaging in a series of meetings with officials of the Municipal Security Council and other stakeholders.

Following these discussions, the Ejura Traditional Council and the Municipal Assembly have formed a committee to ensure proper revenue collection and accounting to the government.

This committee will be responsible for overseeing the market’s financial transactions and ensuring that all revenue generated is accounted for and remitted to the government.

In addition to these measures, the chief has announced plans to petition the Ministry of Local Government for the official handing over of the market square to a committee formed by the traditional council.

This move aims to ensure that the government receives its rightful revenue from the market, without any misappropriation or leakage.

The chief’s proactive stance has been praised by the community, who recognize the importance of protecting government revenue.

The Ejura Market Square has the potential to contribute significantly to the local economy, and it is essential that its revenue is managed efficiently and effectively.

By taking bold steps to address the issue of revenue mismanagement, the Ejura Chief has demonstrated his commitment to good governance and transparency.

His efforts will not only benefit the government but also the local community, who will reap the rewards of a well-managed market square.
