Finance Minister Inducts New ADB Board, Tasks Them to Prioritize Agricultural Growth

The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has officially inducted a new Board of Directors for the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).

He charged the board members to prioritize the bank’s core mandate of driving Ghana’s agricultural transformation.

Dr. Forson emphasized the crucial role of agriculture in national development, stating that a thriving agricultural sector is essential for sustainable growth.

The Minister announced plans to recapitalize ADB in 2026, aiming to enhance the bank’s financial capacity to support farmers, agribusinesses, and agricultural initiatives. This move is expected to bolster ADB’s ability to drive agricultural development.

The newly inaugurated board is led by Chairman Mr. Kenneth Kwamina Thompson and Managing Director Mr. Edward Ato Sarpong, alongside other distinguished members. The board is tasked with steering ADB’s efforts to support Ghana’s agricultural sector.
