Galamsey: Jinapor’s Directive Commendable but…

730

Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources has served a seven (7) day notice to persons and/or companies engaged in reconnaissance and/or prospecting or mining in forest reserves, to cease operations and evacuate their equipment accordingly.

The move is timely, commendable, laudable and admirable but the concern is the strict application of the directives, since this is not the first of it kind.

Enforcement, enforcement and enforcement of the orders (laws) is the major problem of our country.

We hereby encourage all Ghanaians especially the Regional security council as directed by the Honorable Land and Natural Resources Minister to withstand and combat the pressure from the so-called untouchables, politically connected person’s who can influence their way to violate the directives.

Ghana is at crossroads and we CAN NOT afford to cross this pathway wrongly again.

Because if we do, the human, social and economic repercussions will be unbearable for this and the next generations.
