The attached academic calendar outlines key dates, holidays, and footnotes that provide further guidance on special arrangements and considerations for the smooth running of the school year.

Regional Directors have been requested to disseminate the academic calendar to all Heads of Second Cycle Institutions under their jurisdiction and ensure that they strictly adhere to the calendar. This is to guarantee consistency and smooth implementation across all schools. The GES has also urged Heads of Schools to provide the necessary monitoring and support in the execution of the calendar.

The release of the academic calendar is a significant step towards ensuring that the 2025/2026 academic year is well-planned and executed. The GES has expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of all stakeholders in ensuring effective teaching and learning in the country’s second cycle institutions.

The academic calendar is expected to guide schools in planning their academic activities, including the scheduling of examinations, holidays, and other important events. With the reporting date for first-year students set for October 18, 2025, schools are expected to be prepared to welcome new students and ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year.

The GES remains committed to ensuring that the country’s education system is well-managed and that students receive the best possible education. The release of the academic calendar is a testament to this commitment, and it is expected that all stakeholders will work together to ensure a successful academic year.
