Ghana Navy Hosts 4th International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference

The Ghana Navy recently hosted the 4th International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (IMDEC) in Accra, with Hon. Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff, serving as the guest of honour. The event brought together maritime experts, industry stakeholders, and government officials to discuss pressing issues affecting maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.

In his keynote address on behalf of President Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing maritime threats in the region. He called for a unified African voice, leveraging technology, innovation, and stronger cooperation to safeguard the Gulf of Guinea against piracy, illegal trafficking, and other maritime threats.

The conference provided a platform for participants to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices in maritime security. The Ghana Navy’s hosting of the event demonstrates its commitment to promoting maritime security and stability in the region.

The Ghana Navy extended a warm and dignified welcome to the Chief of Staff, showcasing the country’s proud naval tradition and commitment to maritime security. Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, represented by Rear Admiral Livinus Bessing, and other senior naval officers were on hand to receive the guest of honour.
