GIMPA Officials visit Kumasi Mayor, Asokwa MCE

Officials from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration-Kumasi Campus (GIMPA) have paid visits to the Kumasi Mayor, Samuel Pyne and Asokwa Municipal Chief Executive Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah.

Martin Dimbie, Assitant Registrar and Administrator-GIMPA Kumasi campus said the rationale for the visits was to officially wish the President’s representatives for both Kumasi Metro and Asokwa Municipal Assembly well in their endeavours and to begin a relationship with them.

Speaking to the media after the encounters, Ophelia Prempeh-Kessie, SRC President  GIMPA-Kumasi Campus said “the school Management decided to officially welcome the two Chief Executives to office and to extend to them invitations to the upcoming SRC week and Alumni Home Coming celebrations which would be from the 27th of March to the 2nd of April,  2023”.

Incidentally, Gimpa Kumasi Campus is ten years since its establishment in Ashanti.

Kumasi Mayor:
Hon Sam Pyne, Mayor for Kumasi expressed delight at the visit by the team and promised to be part of their upcoming programmes.

He noted that as a reputable institution everyone would want to be associated with GIMPA.

The Mayor promised to be an ambassador for the institution, adding that he would lobby to get staff of the KMA to enrol at the Kumasi campus to upgrade their knowledge base and capacity to work effectively.

“I am honored by your visit and I am looking forward to participating in your upcoming programmes so that together we can project Gimpa and the opportunity your establishment presents to us to get higher education to better our lives and to contribute to the development of the country”, Hon Pyne stated.

Asokwa Mce:
Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah, MCE fod Asokwa commended the GIMPA team for their visit and applauded both management and student leadership for doing so together.

He also praised the kind of education GIMPA was churning out, adding that every year persons from the Assembly enrol to upgrade themselves in knowledge.

The MCE asked the team to write to the Assembly anytime they need assistance in their line of work and operations.

“It’s refreshing having you visit me and the Asokwa Municipal Assembly and as landlord of your establishment I promise to support you so that you can give the best GIMPA is noted for to the people”, Chief Akwannuasah stressed.

GIMPA team:
Visiting the two assemblies were Sename Nerissa Asiwome, SRC Women’s Commissioner -GIMPA, Kumasi, Ophelia Prempeh-Kessie, SRC President, GIMPA, Kumasi Campus.

The others were Martin Dimbie – Assistant Registrar/ Administrator, GIMPA Kumasi, Priscila Adoley Moffat   – SRC Vice President, GIMPA Kumasi

28th March- Tuesday – Media Interviews n Social Media Awareness

29th March- Wednesday  -Open Forum that is engagement with Management (Zoom)

30th March- Thursday – Wear anything GIMPA (Take a picture and post it on any of the platforms) Awards will be given

31st March- Friday – Educational talk by an Alumni

1st April- Saturday  – Main Event (Float, indoor games, cooking competition n Blood donation)

2nd April- Sunday – Thanksgiving Service (PIWC – Asokwa)
