The Hyerem family of Offinso, one of the royal families gates of Offinso in the Ashanti region has kicked against the legitimacy of one Amoako Poku who was allegedly coronated recently at old Offinso palace.
Mr. Agyare Boateng Thomas aka Daakye, secretary to the Hyerem family in an interview with the media at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene’s celebration of the first Akwasidae last Sunday, stressed that, there was nothing like coronation or whatsoever of Offinso manhene.
According to him, Mr Amoako Poku was hand picked by one Atta Kwabena claimed to be the family head of Kakaboase to inherit the late Offinso manhene upon the Queen mother of Offinso requested that, the royal gates in Offinso to provide the legitimate royal to inherit their late Chief Nana Wiafe Akenten III.
He stated that, the Kakaboase family could not even pleaded with the Queen mother for their son to inherit the late Offinso manhene knowing very well that Kakaboase family is not part of the royal families in Offinso.
He noted that, the Hyerema family has invoked Otumfuo Oath on the Kakaboase family at Otumfuo Kyeamehene Nana Nsuoasehene even before such illegal and uncultured coronation allegedly took place at Offinso old town which he said prevented him to sworn Oath of allegiance to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
Mr Agyare Boateng stressed that, there is no like coronation of Offinso manhene and expressed the hope that, the legitimate person would be selected to be sworn the Oath of allegiance to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
