I’ll modernize Obuasi township with revenue generated from gold-John Mahama

The former President of Ghana and flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama has pledged his solidarity to help develop Obuasi township if elected into power in the incoming 2024 general elections.

According to him, the revenue generated from the mining activities in the town would be used to develop and modernize the township.

He revealed that, his government started the Anglo gold-Ashanti ODD project during his tenure of office in 2014 but couldn’t complete and hence assures the natives of the town of a developed township should he be elected into office in 2025.

Mr John Dramani Mahama made this known when speaking to Adasihene,Nana Bonsra Afriyie II on “Building the Ghana we want tour” in the Ashanti Region today at Fomena.

In his speech, he used Johannesburg in South Africa as an example of a town developed using the gold mined from their community.

He estimated that, the profit generated from the Obuasi gold mining is enough to develop the township.

John Dramani Mahama further motivated the township as to how the party is peaceful and would always preach peace to supporters.

He also painted the party as a no violence movement as the party is rooting for a peaceful 2024 general elections.
