KCML Leadership Pays Courtesy Call on Kumasi Mayor

The leadership of the Kumasi City Market Limited (KCML) has paid a courtesy call on Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, the Mayor of Kumasi.

The delegation, comprising the 11-Member Steering Committee, the Combined Traders Association, and the Concerned Traders Group, was warmly received by the Mayor.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Nana Prempeh congratulated the Mayor on his appointment and assured him of their unwavering support as he leads the city.

The group took the opportunity to present their petitions regarding the KCML facility and shared key concerns affecting their operations.

A symbolic gift was presented to the Mayor as a gesture of goodwill, demonstrating the traders’ commitment to building a strong working relationship with the city authorities.

In response, Hon. Ofori-Agyeman Boadi expressed his deep appreciation for the traders’ show of confidence and solidarity.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by traders and assured them of his commitment to addressing their issues. The Mayor recognized that traders pay various taxes and levies to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), and pledged to ensure that trading activities are directed to the KCML facility to help traders fulfill their obligations to state institutions.

The Mayor emphasized his commitment to working closely with the traders to ensure progress and mutual success. He assured the delegation that the city authorities would do everything possible to support the traders and address their concerns.
