Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, aspiring presidential candidate and 2028 flagbearer hopeful of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has once again demonstrated what many supporters describe as politics with a human face after donating a modern wheelchair worth thousands of Ghana cedis to a person with disability in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency of the Ashanti Region.

The beneficiary, Kofi Owusu, a resident of Atwima Aburaso, received the wheelchair following Hon. Agyapong’s campaign visit to NPP delegates in the constituency, during which he personally identified the difficult living condition of the physically challenged young man and acted swiftly to offer support.

Speaking to the media after the presentation on behalf of Hon.Kennedy Agyapong, the First Vice Chairman of the NPP in Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, Mr. Isaac Nyame Essampong, said the donation reflects the consistent character of a leader who believes politics must directly improve lives.

According to him, Ken Agyapong has, over the years, used his personal resources and influence to uplift the vulnerable, empower the disadvantaged, and restore dignity to many Ghanaians, irrespective of political affiliation. He stressed that such compassionate interventions go beyond campaign promises and represent genuine leadership.

Mr. Essampong therefore called on delegates of the New Patriotic Party to give their nod to Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong as the party’s 2028 presidential flagbearer during the upcoming presidential primaries scheduled for 31st January 2026, urging them to remain resolute in the face of what he described as propaganda, lies, and deliberate fabrications targeted at the candidate’s ambition to lead Ghana.

The well-attended event brought together current and former polling station and constituency executives, chiefs, council of elders, party supporters, and a large number of residents, all of whom witnessed the gesture that many described as timely and life-changing.

In an emotional response, the beneficiary, Kofi Owusu, who lost one leg following an injury sustained during a football game, expressed deep gratitude to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong for restoring his mobility and dignity. His mother, overwhelmed with joy, offered prayers for God’s continued blessings and divine guidance, expressing strong hope that Hon.Agyapong’s vision to lead Ghana would be fulfilled, including victory in the upcoming presidential elections.

Meanwhile, sentiments expressed by party supporters at the event reflect a growing national call for leadership rooted in integrity, boldness, compassion, and clear purpose. Many believe Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong embodies these qualities and possesses the courage and determination needed to reposition Ghana onto a path of growth, accountability, and national pride.

As the race toward the 2026 NPP presidential primaries intensifies, gestures such as this continue to shape public perception, reinforcing the image of a leader whose political journey is anchored not just in ambition, but in action.
