The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Oforikrom in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, has facilitated the distribution of desks to three public senior high schools in the municipality as part of efforts to improve teaching and learning conditions.
The beneficiary institutions are the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Senior High School (KNUST SHS), Mancell Senior High School and St. Louis Senior High School.
The intervention is expected to help address furniture needs in the beneficiary schools and provide students with improved classroom conditions for effective teaching and learning.
The distribution forms part of efforts to support educational institutions within the municipality and ensure that students have access to basic facilities necessary for their academic development.
EDUCATION SUPPORT.
The provision of desks is considered an important intervention in addressing infrastructure and logistical challenges confronting some public schools, particularly where inadequate classroom furniture affects students’ comfort and concentration during lessons.
For students, access to appropriate desks can contribute to a more conducive learning environment, while teachers are better positioned to conduct lessons in classrooms equipped with essential furniture.
The initiative also highlights the role of local government authorities in supporting education through interventions that complement the efforts of the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service.
By facilitating the distribution of desks to the three senior high schools, the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly is demonstrating a commitment to addressing the practical needs of educational institutions within its jurisdiction.
COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION.
Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed’s intervention is expected to provide relief to the beneficiary schools and support their efforts to maintain an environment conducive to academic work.
The distribution to KNUST SHS, Mancell SHS and St. Louis SHS also ensures that the support reaches three public senior high schools serving students within the municipality.
Education remains a key component of community development, with adequate classroom furniture and other essential learning materials playing an important role in improving the overall school experience.
The intervention is therefore expected to contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen educational delivery in Oforikrom and promote better conditions for students and teachers.
The initiative further underscores the importance of collaboration between municipal authorities and educational institutions in identifying and addressing challenges that affect teaching and learning.
With the provision of desks, the beneficiary schools are expected to receive support in meeting their furniture needs and creating more comfortable classroom environments for students.
The intervention reinforces the need for sustained investment in educational facilities to ensure that schools are adequately equipped to support effective teaching, learning and academic achievement.
