KT Hammond got it wrong, describing Ghanaian youth as empty coconut heads

Mr. Agbenya Precious, youth activist and political analyst has condemned Mr. KT Hammond, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti region for describing the youth of the country as empty coconut heads.
According to him, the NPP Member of Parliament got it all wrong and want to know whether it’s because he as an MP for his constituency has done nothing to positively impacted on the youth in the constituency, hence describing them as empty coconut heads.
He was of the view that the Member of Parliament should come out as a matter of urgency to render unqualified apology to the youth of his constituency and the country as a whole.
Mr KT Hammond made the comments recently after some youth
booed President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo at Global festival concert which was held at the independence square here in Accra.
Mr. Agbenya stated that, The act of booing at president Akuffo Addo by the youths at the event, was as a result of their displeasure in term of how the unbearable economic hardship they are going through in recent times of his tenure by demonstrating their dissatisfaction with regard to the style of his governance.
He noted that, the expectations from the youth was that, the President could have come out to motivate and encourage them for the economic hardship and challenges, says the Member of Parliament for the the ruling party has done the worse by insulting the already angered youths on top.
According to KT Hammond, Ghanaian youths are empty coconut heads, without manners and disrespectful, the statement he said the high ranking member of Parliament of the NPP is really unfortunate and intolerant whichthe youths in the country least expected to have come from him.
Mr. Agbenya revealed that, the youth did same to the former president John Mahama during his tenure for economic hardship, but were not been attacked and insulted by any of the then NDC MP. He argued why this time the youth must be described as empty coconut heads and disrespectful.
He reiterated that, Mr. KT Hammond is part of the reasons the youths of the country are empty headed, since he is one of the current leaders, and is not surprised he made such unwarranted statement as a contributing factor.
He underscored that, KT Hammond has done nothing or invested in the youths of his own constituency and the country to enable them contributes meaning to the socio-economic growth of the country hence, he realized the youth being empty coconut heads comment from him.
He stressed that, the youths of the country are watching the politicians closely and shall vote them out when realizing that they are being taken for granted only to be voted them to enrich themselves as the expense of the vulnerable and jobless youth and consider those having issues concern the youth at heart and not for elections alone.
