The Kumasi High Court 3 has declared the election of Micaiah Addai as the leader/president of the 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies null and void. The court ruled that Addai cannot hold himself as president or interim leader of the church anymore.

In his ruling , the Court appointed two church Elders as interim leaders to steer the affairs of the church until elections are held within six months.

This decision follows a protracted church litigation brought against Addai by some church members, who alleged that he imposed himself as president contrary to the church constitution.

The controversy began after the demise of the church’s founder, Elder Enoch Ofori Snr., when Addai, a nephew of the founder, claimed to be the leader of the church. The appellants, including Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr., argued that Addai’s actions violated the church constitution, which stipulates that elections should be held to elect a new president.

The Court of Appeal upheld an appeal against a previous judgment, directing the Association of Seventh Day Pentecostal Assemblies to elect a new President within six months to resolve the impasse. The court also awarded costs of GH¢15,000 against Addai .
