The group’s spokesperson, Yaw Geraldo speaking at a brief ceremony on Tuesday, said members of Kumasi Parliament were acting responsible by donating towards the project popularly christened ‘Heal Komfo Anokye Project’.

He noted that members decided to contribute towards the project from the day it was launched by the Overlord of Asanteman over a month ago.

These contributions, he noted, had come from government appointees, Members of Parliament, Civil Servants and Media personalities on the page.

Chief Administrators:

Presenting the cash donation, Ms Ophelia Samaaba Prempeh-Kessie, an administrator on behalf of the Chief Administrator, Emmanuel Tweneboah Koduah and other leaders said KP members were happy to donate to support a worthy cause spearheaded by the Asantehene.

She noted that the willingness of members to donate showed that they were believers of the vision of the KATH Chief Executive (CEO), Professor Otchere Addai Mensah.

Ms Prempeh-Kessie who is fondly called ‘’Emfresh’’ said the group was grateful to the Kumasi Mayor, Samuel Pyne and Hon Ama Pomaa Boateng, MP for Juaben that having donated towards the project individually and as members of several government outfits they also decided to contribute good amounts to the collection made on Kumasi Parliament.

‘’We are happily presenting this amount to the CEO who is our brother and we hope this goes to help the project to be commenced and completed on time to serve the needs of residents of Kumasi as well as several others who come from over 12 regions due to referrals’’, the administrator stated.

Appreciation:

Expressing appreciation while receiving the cash donation, Professor Addai-Mensah, CEO of KATH said he was overwhelmed with the show of support.

He stated that he sees members of Kumasi Parliament as family and that to see his family members visit him and to donate money to support the Heal KATH project was very encouraging.

The KATH CEO revealed that work had already commenced on the project as the leaky roofs are being taken off for a total replacement with new ones.

‘’I am overcome with joy to see my brothers and sisters donate to this project launched by Opemsuo Osei Tutu II and I am happy to report that apart from the donations we are gladly receiving from several members of the public, work has commenced on the project as the leaky roofs on all the 4 blocks are being replaced and fixed’’, the CEO disclosed.
