The Former Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Suame, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has assigned armed police personnel to retrieve a Nissan Pick belonging to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from the Constituency Women’s Organiser.

According to Madam Abigail Osei Tawiah, the police attempted to forcibly take the branded party car from her when President Nana Akuffo Addo inspected the construction of the Suame interchange project on Monday.

Addressing the media, the Women’s Organiser disclosed that Hon Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu claimed she has stolen his car hence the police should arrest her.

According to her, the police therefore invited her to bring the car to the Central police station for further investigations.

“I went to the police station the next day with my lawyers and other party members but to my surprise, the police only told me to go with the car and report again the following day” Madam Abigail Osei Tawiah, disclosed.

She described accusation as a palpable lie since the same MP directed her to take the Nissan Pick-up from Mr Bright Osei Agyemang, Former Suame Constituency Chairman and used same car for political campaigns.

According to her, the MP claims she supported Lawyer John Darko, the Suame Parliamentary Candidate to the neglect of Hon Maxwell Ofosu Boakye, the Suame Municipal Chief Executive.

The MP, she said, after the defeat of the MCE, has opted create confusion with subsequent attacks on her personality.

According to the Women’s Organiser, the MP became infuriated after realising that the pick-up has been rebranded with pictures of Lawyer Darko.

“All delegates in Suame Constituency know the work l did for Hon Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, for his 28 years in Parliament. I was part of executives, who engineered his unopposed” Madam Abigail Osei Tawiah lamented.

The Women’s Organiser has therefore called on the National Executives of the party to intervene since the MP intends to create confusion ahead of the 2024 general election.

  1. After 28 years as a member of Parliament, you could not build a party office. The only property you gave to the party in Suame is this pickup and you want to take it back for yourself? This man Hon. Ose-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu is indeed very greedy politicians. You succeeded in causing division among the party’s Constituency executive committee and the polling station executives. Shame on you Honorable.
