Kyei Mensah Bonsu Ready To Contest Suame Seat In 2020 Elections-NPP Chairman Hints

  The Second Vice Chairman for Suame Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Richard Akwasi Asante, had described it as false, the speculations that the Majority Leader won’t contest in the 2020 Parliamentary elections.  According to him, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu,  who is the Member of Parliament for Suame is prepared to seek reelection next year. Speaking to the media, in reaction to a media report under the headline “Majority Leader Rescinds decision to contest in 2020”, Mr Asante described it as a “cooked” story from opponents in the Constituency. According to him, the Majority Leader resorted to laughter when his attention was drawn to the story which is being circulated in the social media. “Yesterday was the first time I saw the Majority Leader laughing continuously after hearing the news that he has declined not to seek reelection” Mr Asante disclosed.  He disclosed that Majority Leader has prepared himself to pick a form, when nomination is opened. “Majority Leader has repeatedly declared to the Constituency executives, his willingness to seek reelection and had never rescinded to do same” Mr Asante said. He disclosed that Majority Leader identified roads as a major problem facing the Constituency and had subsequently awarded contract for construction of such roads. According to him, all the nine electoral areas in the Constituency will witness asphalt to give a face lift to the areas. Please, he said, are far advanced towards construction of a court at Bremang to adjudicate cases. When completed, according to him, will reduce the numerous cases heaped at the circuit courts at Adum. Mr Asante disclosed that Hon Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has proven to be an experienced Majority Leader steering the affairs of the party. According to him, the party needs the Majority Leader therefore he ought to seek reelection to help remain as one of the pillars for the party. The party, he said, will face serious problems if Majority Leader quits Parliament now for what he described as an “amateur” to replace him as MP for Suame.Source :broadcastergh.com /Ayisah Foster
