The Sekyere Kumawu District Assembly has been blessed with alot of physical developmental projects under the leadership of Hon.Samuel Addai Agyekum (DCE) and the NPP government.

The district is also  embarking on an aggressive infrastructure development to help open up rural communities and improve on the living conditions of the people in those areas.

Mr Samuel Addai Agyekum, the District Chief Executive said in an exclusive interview with the punch newspaper that the aim is to help alleviate poverty and improve the socio-economic conditions in rural communities, to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Mr Agyekum giving accounts on some of the projects in his district mentioned   the renovation and expansion of a primary and kindergarten block of the Dadease Salvation Army basic schools, which he said is a GH¢86,000.00 project and  is being financed solely by the district assembly.

Mr Agyekum also mentioned about the construction of a water closet sanitary facility for the people of Wonoo, a farming community in the district, at the cost of GH¢ 250,000.00.

He mentioned that all the 32 communities under his district are now enjoying electricity.

He said the team has done well interms of education.

“When it comes to renovation of works, we have done it and where new ones need to be constructed we have done it through proper planning by staff of the assembly.

We have also cultivated 15 hectors of cashew and have rice farming which is doing well in the district.

We have alot of roads being constructed by his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akofu Addo.

Hon.Agyekum mentioned of Oyoko to Sekyere Banko road which he said is completed,Oyoko Banko Nauta road which work is ongoing .

He said the assembly was committed to providing social amenities such as school blocks, toilet facilities, markets, road networks and others, to open up the area for investment and enhanced living conditions.

Mr Agyekum called for total cooperation from community members, chiefs and other opinion leaders to ensure that development projects initiated in their communities were completed on time for the benefit of the people.

He was however grateful to the president of the republic,His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo for given him the opportunity to serve as the District Chief Executive of the area.
