Media tasked to propagate violence free elections in the upcoming general elections devoid partisan politics

Media organizations in the country tasked to propagate violence free elections come 2024 to ensure that, the country remains peaceful before, during and after the elections.
Mr Daniel Nkrumah, General Manager of Sunsum fm, a Private Radio Station in Kumasi make the call at an intercession prayers for Ghana towards the upcoming general elections Organized by the Radio Station in collaboration with Pastors and Men of God who preaches at the station including members of their congratulations.
Mr Nkrumah, noted that, as the country heading towards the general elections, both the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are poised of winning the elections, which he said create tension in the country.
He noted that, is it incumbent for every responsible citizens in the country including the media to contribute their quota towards free and fair elections come December 7th 2024.
He entreated me the media to see themselves as agent of peace in the crucial and tension moment of elections period by preaching peace, fair and coexistence among Ghanaians irrespective of one’s political dispensation.
He also pleaded with men of God to always preach the importance of peaceful coexistence among citizens, which he said is the only way to ensure sustainable socioeconomic development for the country.
Bishop Osei Kusi of Shiloh United Church on behalf of the Pastors used the opportunity and make a passionate appeal to leaders of all denominations and faith based organizations including the traditional leaders to always preach justice and peace on any platform to their followers.
According to him, there can be no development where there is no peace, and for that matter, the need for every stakeholder in the country to take matters that concerns justice, peace, fairness and level play ground for all the political parties devoid taking the side.
He is of the view that, when there is no peace in the country, no leader being pastor, Chief or Imam could meet their members or subjects on a peaceful atmosphere, hence the need for all to embrace peaceful coexistence among political parties, religious bodies and respect one’s opinion irrespective of political or religious dispensation.
