The Ministry of Education has reported significant progress in addressing placement issues for candidates seeking admission into Senior High Schools and Technical Institutes through the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

According to a statement released by the Ministry, over 564,000 out of 590,390 qualified candidates have been successfully placed as of September 23, 2025.

The CSSPS Resolution Centre, which began operations on September 18, 2025, is actively resolving placement-related concerns nationwide.

Since its inception, the Centre has received a total of 1,358 cases, with the majority pertaining to requests for school and residence changes.

Key highlights from the report include:
– Change of School Requests: 1,100 cases have been received, with 76% involving movements from Category C and B schools to Category A schools.

– Change of Residence: Candidates’ residences cannot ordinarily be changed, though special considerations are made for health challenges or family relocation.

– No Placement: About 70% of qualified students not placed through the automatic system have been successfully placed using the self-placement option.

– Change of Programme: Requests are being reviewed by the CSSPS Secretariat.

The CSSPS Secretariat has assured parents, guardians, and students that all outstanding concerns are being handled diligently to ensure a fair and smooth placement process. Data for re-entry students is currently being processed for placement.

The Ministry of Education continues to work towards ensuring that all qualified candidates are placed in Senior High Schools and Technical Institutes across the country.

The statement was signed by the PR Unit, Ministry of Education.
