Ministry of Energy and Green Transition Staff Embark on Clean-Up Exercise to Mark 2025 Civil Service Week

As part of activities marking the 2025 Civil Service Week celebrations, staff of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition embarked on a clean-up exercise.

The initiative is aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and demonstrating the Ministry’s commitment to climate-conscious public service.

Ag. Chief Director of the Ministry, Solomon Adjetey-Sowah, on behalf of the Minister, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, highlighted the importance of the exercise. “Beyond the symbolism, this is about showing leadership by example.

A clean environment improves public health, reduces carbon emissions, and enhances the aesthetics of our urban spaces,” he remarked.

“This clean-up exercise is not only in line with our mandate to lead Ghana’s green transition agenda, but also serves as a demonstration of public service responsibility.

We’re proud to be part of this year’ s Civil Service Week,” he stated. Ag. Chief Director further stated that the clean-up exercise will take place every quarter at the ministry to ensure a clean and conducive environment for all.

He thanked the Head of Civil Service for his visit and reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to upholding high standards of professionalism, environmental consciousness, and public service delivery.

On his part, the Head of the Civil Service, Dr. Aggrey-Darko expressed satisfaction with the level of commitment displayed by the staff of the Ministry, commending them for their teamwork and dedication to the national sanitation agenda.

He emphasized the importance of such activities in fostering a clean and productive work environment, which he described as essential for public sector efficiency.

“I am highly impressed by the level of enthusiasm and cooperation I have witnessed here today. The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has demonstrated strong leadership and commitment to the goals of this year’s Civil Service Week,” he remarked.

The Head of Service urged staff of the ministry to adopt the attitude of “Clean as You Go” to safeguard the environment.

The clean-up exercise forms part of series of activities lined up by the Office of the Head of Civil Service under the theme “Adapting to Authomation, Artificial Intelligence and E-Governance: The Civil Service in Contemporary Ghana.”
