Mohammed Hadi,a 27 year old man is currently missing for the fear of his life.
Mohammed Hadi is a grandson of a 90-year-old woman who was lynched after a traditional priest accused her of being a witch in Ghana on Thursday 23rd July,2020.
The issue of witchcraft allegations, especially against old women are widespread in the Northern part of Ghana .
It was reported by Broadcastergh.com and other big online portals and other newspapers in Ghana that , the deceased, Mohammed Akua Denteh was slapped, kicked and caned on Thursday 23rd July,2020 at Kafaba,a community near Salaga in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region in Ghana, West Africa.
In a video intercepted by onua TV and Tv3 ,the deceased was seen being lashed and tortured by two women while others looked on.
In an interview, the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Enoch Adutwum Bediako said one of the sons of the deceased, Mahama Salami Danteh reported the incident to them around 4 pm after his sister called him to tell him about the occurrence.
According to him, immediately after the matter was reported, the Salaga Police proceeded to the scene, which is about 21 kilometres from Salaga and saw the lifeless body of the victim.
DCOP Bediako said based on the severe beating the woman was subjected to by her assailants she became unconscious and died.
He added that an inspection conducted on the body revealed a cut on the forehead and bruises on the right arm.
The Police told Media men that they have mounted a search for one Tanko and his accomplices who allegedly masterminded the lynching of the 90 -year old woman on the accusation that she was a witch.
Mohammed Hadi who was the right hand man of his beloved grandmother and was then in Accra ,the nation’s capital to trade in cattle business is since missing in the country for the fear of his life.
It was established that this same Tanko threatened to kill Mohammed Hadi on the same grounds of witchcraft years ago before the unfortunate incident happened to his grandmother in his absence.
For the fear of his life ,Mohammed Hadi has since missing upon hearing the death of his beloved grandmother by this same suspect (Tanko)who had threatened to kill him(Mohammed Hadi) earlier.
As at filing this story, Mohammed Hadi was nowhere to be found, according to other extended family members.
