In line with its purpose to keep customers at the core of its business, MTN Ghana has held its 2023 Media and Stakeholders Forum in Accra to share insights on the business performance and focus for the year ahead.
The forum, which is an annual event, was held under the theme “Leveraging Technology to Serve Customers with Excellence”.
Leading the discussions at the forum, the CEO of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh provided updates on MTN’s overall strategy, the company’s network improvement initiatives and plans to give customers more control. He said, “we are on course to invest over One-billion-dollars in the network expansion by the end of 2025.
Selorm Adadevoh reiterated MTN’s focus on its belief that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life. He said, “It is important to get everyone connected and as we think about what this means for economic growth, we at MTN see ourselves as enablers, providing solutions for Africa’s progress”.
Speaking on MTN’s new brand campaign, Selorm said, “As human beings, our greatest achievements originate in, or are refined by pushing ourselves. This energy helps us to be our best. And at MTN, our best can inspire and enable Ghana to explore and achieve hers”.
Speaking on MTN’s investments in the Ghana’s socio-economic sector, Selorm, highlighted the Ghana ICT Hub project as one of the major partnerships being undertaken in collaboration with the Government of Ghana to create jobs for the youth in various digital fields.
The CEO also addressed several key questions confronting the business including the fight against MoMo fraud, SIM registration, and smartphone penetration in the country.
A number of media groups presented their opinions on topical issues of concern to them. The Network of Communication Reporters, (NCR), Journalists for Business Advocacy (JBA), the Institute of Financial and Economic Journalist (IFEJ) and the Private Newspapers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) spoke on issues relating to SIM Registration, Mobile Financial Services and Customer Experience.
The event was attended by stakeholders from both the private and public sectors, including the Chairperson and of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Communication, the President of the Ghana Journalists Association and other media personnel and some civil society organizations. Others were suppliers, trade partners and MTN Technology partners from Huawei, Ericsson, and ATC.
In the coming days, the forum will be replicated across the regions as the business moves closer to customers.
