Muntaka leads reconciliation in Asawase constituency after heated primaries

Alhaji Muhammed Muntaka Mubarak, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase who was re-elected in the last primaries to represent the NDC in the constituency in the 2024 general election has led reconciliation among the constituents especially the executives who were aggrieved before during and after the heated primaries.

According to him, political primaries are an integral part of democratic systems serving as a platform for parties to select their candidates for general elections.

He stated that, in the heat of competition, these primaries can often become intense, divisive, and polarizing, says aftermath of such elections requires a concerted effort towards reconciliation and unity within parties.
He noted that, gainst the backdrop of the simmering situation and In fulfilment of his resolve to keep in touch with his constituents through dynamic leadership.

He explained that, he took the proactive approach to reconciliation, facilitating a grassroots reconciliatory mechanism in adherence to modern democratic tenets.

The Asawase legislature was joined by constituency executives and ward executives to actively engage with various aggrieved branch executives and listen to their concerns, grievances, and perspectives in order to find common ground that would lead to harmonious and coherent party unity.

He said the initiative brings Open communication, emphasizing shared values, collaboration, inclusive decision-making, and leadership commitment.
He is of the view that, in order to build on the success of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party leading into the 2024 general election, it is important to encourage individuals from different backgrounds to come together and openly share their views on the happenings in the Constituency.

This he said will foster a path of forgiveness and unison, which is essential for creating a strong and unified political community that can continue to support the party’s efforts by actively forgiving and engaging with different voices in the Constituency.

He noted that, NDC can build on its existing support base and create a powerful platform that can be used to secure victory in the next elections through the approach, individuals from different backgrounds will be able to better understand each other’s perspectives and work together to create an environment of progress and growth.
