Prominent television personality in Ghana Nana Aba Anamoah has been relieved of her role as General Manager of the EIB-NETWORK media conglomerate.
The announcement came from EIB Network’s management today.
In an official statement, the management announced that “We are pleased to announce the promotion of Nana Aba Anamoah, the current General Manager of the English Cluster, to the position of Director of Business Development, EIB Network.”
Her new position represents a significant change in her role within the organization.
Replacing Nana Aba Anamoah as the General Manager for the English Cluster, which encompasses GHone TV and Starr FM, Empire FM (Takoradi) and Ultimate FM(Kumasi), is Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong.
Additionally, she will oversee Agoo TV.
Nana Aba Anamoah had taken on the role of General Manager for EIB Network’s GhOne TV in 2020, marking her return to the media industry after leaving TV3 in 2016.
However, a recent project led to considerable controversy.
Her children’s show titled “Actual Bosses” depicted children discussing Former President John Mahama, which drew mixed reactions.
Critics argued that it portrayed a negative image of the former president.
Edem Agbana, a parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was among those who expressed their strong disapproval of the show, condemning what he described as a false perception amplified in the program.
Many analysts suggest that the decision to reassign Nana Aba Anamoah from her position as General Manager to Director of Business Development within EIB Network was prompted by this recent controversy.
