On behalf of the leadership, the entire membership, and the teeming supporters of the National Democratic
Congress, I offer the part’/ s warmest congratulations to all who participated in the just ended Women’s and Youth Congress of the party held in Cape Coast in the Central Region over the last weekend.
To the unsuccessful candidates, we have a simple and straightforward message: accept our commiserations even as you have played important roles in the forward march of the great NDC.
To the Local Organising Committee, we say Ayekoo for pulling off such a great event. To the delegates and the candidates, both winners and losers alike, the NDC thanks you so much for your love and support for the party. It is on your shoulders that this party will grow from strength to strength.
We also warmly commend the diligence and meticulousness of the staff of the Electoral Commission who conducted the election. Well done.
We express our appreciation to the Ghana Police Service for their swift actions taken to quell the unfortunate behaviour of some.
This statement will not be complete without the sternest condemnation of the violence that broke out at the venue in the course of the event. We do not condone violence; and we do not identify with any person who seeks to make violence a part of our internal domestic processes.
Accordingly, we assure the police that we will assist in every way possible to bring to book those who, by their conduct, sought to introduce violence and mayhem into an otherwise orderly and peaceful event.
We count on the police to exercise the same level of professionalism when assisting us in the conduct of the upcoming National Delegates Congress scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, December 17th, 2022.
LONG LIVE THE NDC! LONG LIVE GHANA!!
Issued in Accra on December 12th, 2022.
