Sekyere Rural Bank PLC Records Profit

The Sekyere Rural Bank has recorded a profit before tax of GH1,527,458 representing an impressive growth rate of 71% over the previous year 2021 respectively.

The growth and performance of the bank loan portfolio largely contributed to the bank’s commendable monetary performance.

Addressing the Bank’s 32nd Annual General Meeting of Shareholders at Jamasi, the Bank’s headquarters in the Ashanti region Noble Dr. Francis Denteh the Board Chairman of the bank observed that, the way forward of the bank is to pursue strategies and programme that will position and drive the bank performance turnout towards achieving their corporate objectives.

He said the bank deposit i.e savings for 2021 is 48,833,786 as against 46,578,728 2021.

Noble Denteh said demand deposit which is 18,979,998 2022 against 16,408,925 2021 had also improved tremendously.

He said fixed deposit 27,448,628 2022 as well as Susu and among others also had gone up, a situation he therefore described as a commendable progress in the bank since it’s establishment in the year 1983.

Commenting on paying of dividends, the Board Chairman noted that Bank of Ghana notice no. BG/GOV/SEC/2021/06 forbidden the bank to pay dividends but was on the view that, it will be done so if directives are given to the bank as soon as possible.

He explained that, this occured as a result of the outbreak of COVID 19 pandemic which affected all bank’s operations, so BOG find it necessary to put mechanisms in place to sustain banks businesses in the country.
