NDC as a political party is determined to win the Manhyia South parliamentary seat in the Ashanti region for the first time with Madam Rita Amonu Gyamfua as the parliamentary candidate.
The party has stated on record without revocation that it is poised to win the seat in election 2024.
Saying the move to break the record is achievable because if Hon Peter Amewu, MP for Hohoe in the Volta Region was able to snatch the seat from the NDC in the Volta Region then it is possible that Amonu Gyamfua can also snatch the Manhyia South parliamentary seat from the NPP.
Embarking on what she described as door-to- door campaign in the constituency last Monday, Rita Amonu Gyamfua made it clear that when voted into power as the MP, she will use her common fund to cater for the needs of the aged and women in her constituency.
Adding that, the constituency is deprived of development and the good people of Manhyia South have been neglected for long because of bad leadership.
She said, if voted for as the MP
the constituency will see a lot of transformation.
She however called on the constituents, especially women to vote massively for her and John Dramani Mahama so that the Women Development Bank promise is initiated.
On that same day, at the Manhyia South constituency , Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC and his campaign team conducted a comprehensive workshop focused on election management.
The event was part of a broader effort to engage with the community and rally support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), its presidential candidate, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the parliamentary candidate, Rita Amonu Gyamfua.
The day’s activities began with the workshop, which aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge for effectively managing the upcoming elections. Following the workshop, the team embarked on a community engagement initiative, connecting with residents to discuss the NDC’s vision and plans for the constituency.
The day’s efforts culminated in a rally at Dichemso, where Dr. Amoakohene and his team energized the crowd with messages of hope and progress under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama.
Among the key figures in the delegation were Dr. Elvis Koka, Alice Anthony, and other notable members from the Research and Elections Directorate. The event was well-attended and underscored the NDC’s commitment to grassroots mobilization and community engagement in the run-up to the elections.
