NGO feeds hundreds in Obuasi on Xmas day

Mama Love Foundation, an Obuasi based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has embarked on a charity programme on  Christmas day to feed the less priveledged in the municipality The programme dubbed lend a hand, sharing is caring was aimed at distributing sumptuous jollof rice, assorted drinks, hampers, gifts bags, undisclosed amount of monies to the needy, orphans and widows in  Obuasi during the festive season.
Rev. Dr. Love Konadu, the President of Mama Love Foundation at the event explained that, the rationale behind the project was to prioritizing the interest and well-being of the less privileged in the society, adding that Mama Love foundation is  committed to put smiles on the faces of the aged, widows and orphans especially the festive season.
She recounted that, the foundation as part of its core mandate, in 2021, collaborated with UK based Foundation Obuasi Sikakrom Association to organize a seminar which empowered women and gave capital to widows and a sickle cell patient to set-up businesses in Obuasi.
She stated that, aside the food distribution, the foundation also gave out capital to individuals to set them up and make them self reliant, this according to  Dr. Love Konadu is part of their plans to  unlock resources and create an enabling environment, to ensure that young women are on a steady footing to meet their personal and economic challenges that confronts them.
The District Chief Executive for Obuasi East Honorable Faustina Amissah, lauded the Mama Love foundation for giving hope to the less privileged in the society, says a time has come for society to acknowledge the roles played by NGOs who have volunteered to offer a helping hand to the hopeless in the society.
Madam Amissah entreated the Girls to take their training seriously and be disciplined in their pursuit for economic empowerment.
The beneficiaries of the gesture from Mama Love foundation also expressed their profound gratitude to the Foundation for coming to their aid this yuletide.
Madam Ama Asamoah, a benefiary widow at Boete expressed her gratitude and joy, says she had no hope of enjoying the Christmas with her children. hence the donation from Mama Love came at the right time
