Mr. Thomas Boakye Yiadom, President of Concerned Citizens of Sekyere Afram Plains District has said that, NPP doesn’t stand any chance of winning the Parliamentary Seat unless they present a candidate who will be accepted by many of the citizens and not by political gymnastics.
He continued that since the incumbent MP lost his seat to a new person, especially a lady, many have thought that winning the seat for NPP would be easy.
But Mr. Boakye Yiadom had a contrary view that , it can be possible, but with a candidate who will be accepted and voted for based on how the citizens of the Constituency would like and love the person, for even floating voters to vote for such for him or her.
He stressed, that the person should not only be seen to be a member of NPP, but someone who is known by natives, loved by many and have close family ties and relationship with other sect.
“Just presenting a candidate based on only what delegates will vote for cannot make NPP win the seat”, he stated.
He went further to propose that such a Candidate should be a fresh one who has not had any disaffection from the people, because he has not held a position of the party or government.
He added, that a native who was born and bred in the district and understands the plights of the people would be an added advantage, as against any popularity of a Candidate just in the eyes of the public and the national executives.
Mr. Boakye Yiadom indicated that the group is ready to support any Candidate of such to victory.
