The Offinso North District Assembly, led by District Chief Executive Hon. Ceasar Ofosu Acheampong, presented financial support and essential items to 75 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) on September 19, 2025.
This initiative underscores the assembly’s commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.
At the event ,items and funds were allocated across categories as per national guidelines for PWD support:
Over 35 PWDs received GH¢2,000 each for business support (total GH¢90,000).
15 PWDs got medical assistance, 8 students received support (special schools, training college, local schools).
Assistive Devices (part of 15% health): 2 individuals got devices; 1 student received a laptop.
-Caregivers (10%): Support for caregivers of severely disabled PWDs.
– Business Equipment Provided: 7 deep freezers, 2 fufu pounding machines, 1 hair dryer, 1 sewing machine, 1 barbering startup kit.
The District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) allocation for PWDs was managed transparently; suppliers were directly engaged for procurement.
Supported local union elections for physically challenged, deaf, and blind groups.
Assisted leaders’ attendance at conferences; partnered for health and eye screenings benefiting 96 PWDs in Akumadan.
