The Municipal Chief Executive for the Offinso North Municipal Assembly, Hon. Caesar Ofosu Acheampong, has taken a significant step in improving educational infrastructure in Akomadan by commissioning a renovated 3-unit classroom block for Akomadan D/A ‘B’ Primary School.

This initiative is part of the assembly’s efforts to provide a conducive learning environment for students in the municipality.

The 3-unit classroom block had previously been damaged by heavy rainfall accompanied by severe winds on May 23, 2025. The assembly, under Hon. Acheampong’s leadership, swiftly responded by renovating the block to ensure students could continue their education without disruption.

During the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Acheampong made additional promises to support the school. He pledged to construct a new toilet facility to address sanitation challenges and improve the school’s overall hygiene. Furthermore, he committed to leveling the school’s football park to create a safe and functional space for students to engage in sports and recreational activities.

Hon. Acheampong’s commitment to Akomadan’s development extends beyond education. He has previously promised to build an ultra-modern market for the people of Akomadan and establish a mechanical hub to support economic growth and development in the area, demonstrating his dedication to improving residents’ quality of life and fostering economic progress.

The MCE’s efforts have been recognized in the community. Nana Kwaku Boateng, Gyaasehene, speaking on behalf of Nana Boakye Akuamoah Boateng II, the Akomadan Chief, expressed gratitude for Hon. Acheampong’s support within his short time in office, underscoring the positive impact of the assembly’s initiatives.

Before renovation, the school faced challenges including land encroachment, inadequate classrooms, and the compound being used as a refuse dump. Headmaster Busih Manu Martin highlighted these issues, noting that when the classroom block was damaged, students were relocated to a distant location for teaching and learning.

Demonstrating his commitment to education, Hon. Acheampong recently cut sod for an ultra-modern KG block with beds for the Nkenkaasu community. The project is expected to be completed within four months, providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children.

The commissioning of the renovated classroom block and Hon. Acheampong’s promises reflect the assembly’s dedication to improving education and infrastructure in Akomadan. With ongoing and future projects, the municipality is poised to experience significant development and growth, benefiting residents and enhancing their quality of life.
