The Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Duah Productions, Oheneyere Mercy Asiedu Duah (Dr), has paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, in his office at Mankranso.
The visit, which took place today, centred on discussions aimed at strengthening the growth and sustainability of the film village established by Mercy Duah Productions at Kramokrom Junction, near Kunsu.
During the meeting, Oheneyere Mercy Asiedu Duah highlighted the enormous potential of the film village to promote local culture and position the district as a creative arts hub in Ghana. She called for stronger collaboration with the District Assembly and other stakeholders to expand infrastructure and improve facilities at the village.
Hon. Abubakar Sedik commended her initiative, describing the film village as a project that will not only project the district onto the national stage but also stimulate economic growth in the area. He assured her of the Assembly’s support to ensure that the village reaches its full potential.
Both parties expressed optimism about future partnerships that would harness the creative arts industry to drive development in Ahafo Ano South West District.
The film village was the venue for some movies like “Assabia” and others. Upgrading the facilities there will draw the attention of filmmakers and industry players, and this engagement is expected to accelerate its transformation into a vibrant centre for movie production in the Ashanti Region and beyond.
