Onyinanufu community gets electricity for the first time, courtesy Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah

For the first time in its history, the people of Onyinanufu, a predominantly farming community in the Ahafo Ano South West will experience what it feels like to sleep in an electricity light.

Thanks to the incumbent NPP Member of Parliament for the constituency, Johnson Adu, and the Parliamentary candidate, Elvis Osei-Mensah Dapaah, the people of ONYINANUFU have now been connected to the national grid.

In a state of excitement and jubilation, the old, young, women,men and children of Onyinanufu who had gathered at the short, but colourful ceremony to commission the project, described the occasion as a historic one which will stay in the archives of the community for eternity.

The community can only charge their phones and other gadgets unless they travel to other close by communities with light.

School children, over the history of the community have had it extremely tough to have their evening studies, or engage in activities related to Information Technology.

Those who deal with frozen foods also had to resort to power generator sets which comes with huge cost to them.

But, the people of Onyinanufu can now heeve a sigh of relief with the community haven been connected to the national electricity grid.

In a short remarks, the current Member of Parliament for the Ahafo Ano South West constituency, Johnson Adu, urged the people of Onyinanufu to let their appreciation show during the December elections, urging them to give a hundred percent votes to the NPP.

He indicated that tranformers for other communities have been secured, and such communities will also be connected within a week.

Elvis Osei-Mensah Dapaah, the NPP Parliamentary candidate, charge the youth of Onyinanufu to keep their promise and give the party an overwhelming electoral victory.

He disclosed that about three thousand metres have so far been procured and would be distributed to homes for them to have their own meter.

On his part, the Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Wontumi) said the NPP government believes in the transformation of the people it has sworn to serve, and that having been hooked unto the National grid, is an indication of the party’s commitment to bring development closer to them.
