Liaison Officer for Kejetia-Central Market –Kumasi Re-development Projects, Nana Agyenim Boateng I has paid glowing tributes to Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II for his total commitment towards the development of the region since assumption on the throne some decades ago.

According to Nana Agyenim Boateng I who also doubles as the chief of Amoaman in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District in the Ashanti Region , the King has been the brain behind virtually all the monumental projects that have taken place in Kumasi and Ashanti Region for quite a long time.

The chief of Amoaman disclosed that the King was directly involved in a number of Projects such as the Kejetia and Central Market Redevelopment projects, the Jubilee Market at Krofrom, the recent Sod- cutting of the Boankra Inland port by President Akuffo-Addo, the  Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Maternity Block project  and hosts of other projects.

He maintained that in some instances the King has to personally provide funds and guarantees to some banks before monies could be made available for projects to start or continue and also offer lands worth millions of dollars for projects due to his love for his people adding that it was however ungrateful that the King instead of receiving appreciation turn out to court unwarranted disparaging remarks from some section of the people in  the region.

Nana Agyenim Boateng I intimated that the King could have rather invested all these funds involved in  these projects into schools or any other personal aggrandizement to commemorate his twenty years anniversary  but expediently thought as prudent to ensure these projects were completed  before time to ensure the people in the region would find befitting places to transact business.

The Otumfour Liaison Officer, who felt pained for lack appreciation for the King’s commitment, noted that he was set to begin what he termed as “Let the People Know” to ensure that the populace were informed of the Otumfour’s enviable projects, in his quest of ensuring that Asanteman would be compared to any developed regions in the world.

He stated that the Nana Addo led government together with Otumfour Osei Tutu II has initiated several projects in Kumasi worth billions of dollars but added that because of Manhyia’s inability to blow its golden horns  some section of the public have grown blind of the reality.

Nana Agyenim Boateng I further admonished traders and hawkers at the various pavements in the metropolis to relocate to other satellite markets in Kumasi to enable the ongoing Central  Market project to be completed on time adding that once they are completed it would be made available for their own use.
