President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital ahead of tomorrow’s Akwasidae festival, which will take place at the Manhyia Palace.

Before attending the festival, the President will worship with Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom (Opambour) at the Church of Ebenezer Miracle and Worship Center in Ahenema-Kokoben.

This year’s Akwasidae festival is particularly significant, as it marks President Mahama’s first public visit to the Manhyia Palace in eight years.

The President’s attendance was announced at the Asanteman Council meeting on January 13, and he is expected to be received by His Majesty Otumfuo Kyeame, Kantankrakyi.

President Mahama’s visit comes after his swearing-in as the country’s sixth President on January 7, 2025, following his victory in the December 2024 polls.

He secured 6,591,790 votes, representing 56.42% of the total votes cast
