Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly Lauds Government For Development

The Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni-Valley in the Western Region,Hon.Isaac Dasmani and the Member of Parliament for the area,Hon.Barbara Oteng Gyasi have lauded President Nana Addo Dankwah Akfufo Addo’s government for fetching development to the area.
According to him, looking at the three years of  stay in government,the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly has engaged in alot of developmental projects,some  ongoing,others  completed.
Speaking to The Punch,he said ,the has been a lot of improvement in the area , adding that, his predecessor did alot to project the good image of the Assembly and is about time he also does his best to project the municipality.
He revealed that,he assumed office in last two months ago and upon assumption of duty he has  spoken to all contractors on site to ensure that works that are ongoing are completed.
In terms of Education,”if you look at all the SHS in the area,my able Member of Parliament ,Hon.Barbara Oteng Gyasi has been able to provide St.Augustine SHS with laboratory facility and some projects ongoing  at Huni-Valley SHS,Prestea and Bogoso -St.Augustine SHS and Prestech.
He said , another 4-unit classroom block has also been completed to support the free SHS policy.
Health
“Since we assumed office,the coronavirus  was at it peak so we put alot of measures in place by providing nose masks,hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, Veronica buckets and going on sensitization to ensure that people abide by the safety protocols governing COVID-19.
This according to him has helped the municipality in recording zero case of death as far as the dreaded coronavirus pandemic is concerned, though the municipality  recorded ninty-five cases and all have recovered.
“We have alot of CHP compound and hospitals to address the health needs of our people,some ongoing,others completed”He said.
“With health centers,we can talk of the one at Adwireboanan, which is about 80-90% compete, another one at Ehyireso, which is also near completion and there’s others in some of the communities which have reached various stages of completion”.He noted
He revealed that,they don’t just  build the health facilities alone but with nurses quarters.
Hon.Dasmani maintained that,Prestea and Aboaso hospitals have seen alot of improvement adding that Hon.Barbara Oteng Gyasi has built children’s ward and has provided incubator for the female ward in the Prestea hospital.
 Water and Sanitation
“Because of the COVID-19,we are facing challenges with the private individuals who are partnering us to provide free water supply to ensure frequent wash of hands because they incur some cost but aside that,there are a lot of boreholes and mechanized pipes in the municipality that give access to water supply to our people.
He announced that broken down boreholes are being repaired and the municipality is drilling more boreholes to ensure enough water supply in the area.
Electricity
‘I can say that with the exception of few areas, almost all of the communities I serve have light.’He indicated.
He however lauded the government and the member of parliament for the development and pledged that going forward,the municipality will see a lot of physical development and progress.
