Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah Expresses Gratitude to Asantehene,Key Personalities

Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah, the immediate past Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), has conveyed his deepest appreciation to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and President John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve as CEO of the hospital.

In a statement released in Kumasi, Prof. Addai-Mensah acknowledged the critical support he received from these key personalities during his tenure.

A Transformative Tenure.

During his time as CEO, Prof. Addai-Mensah implemented various reforms and initiatives that transformed the operations of KATH. Some of his notable achievements include:

– Nearly doubling the Internally Generated Funds (IGF) of the hospital from Ghc 115,819,364.10 in 2022 to Ghc 222,619,078.51 in 2024.

– Undertaking large-scale retooling, upgrading of infrastructure, and pro-patient initiatives.
– Renovating the Main Theatre, Physiotherapy Unit, and other facilities at the hospital.

– Introducing a courier service for the home delivery of refill medicines for chronic but stable patients.
– Enhancing staff medical package and incorporating it into the hospital’s Electronic Medical Records System.

Appreciation for Support.

Prof. Addai-Mensah expressed his gratitude to the Asantehene for his historic intervention in the comprehensive renovation of the old blocks under the Asantehene’s Heal Komfo Anokye Project. He also thanked Hon. Francis Assenso Boakye, Member of Parliament for Bantama, for facilitating his appointment as CEO of KATH.
