Dr. Prince Nelson Mortoti, Chief Executive Officer of Piwak Natural Health, delivered a powerful speech at the donation ceremony for 200 flood victims at the Aveyime Camp in the North Tongu District.

The event, themed “Rebuilding Together, Restoring Hope,” brought together dignitaries, including Torgbega Kadzi Zogah II, Paramount Chief of Sokpoe Traditional Area and President of Tongu Chiefs Union, Members of Parliament, Ministers of State, District Chief Executives, and representatives of local assemblies.

Dr. Mortoti emphasized the importance of unity and collective action in the face of disaster. He recalled the devastating Akosombo Dam spillage in October 2023, which affected several communities in the Volta Region, including the districts of North, Central, and South Tongu, as well as the Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region and Ada in the Greater Accra Region.

The disaster resulted in loss of homes, businesses, farmlands, and livelihoods, leaving many families displaced and vulnerable.

Piwak Natural Health, under Dr. Mortoti’s leadership, has been actively involved in supporting the affected communities.

In October 2023, the company donated relief items worth over GH¢40,000 to support victims across the Tongu districts.

Yesterday, the company provided GH¢1,000 in direct financial aid to 200 affected individuals, with 60 beneficiaries from South Tongu, 60 from Central Tongu, and 80 from North Tongu.

Dr. Mortoti emphasized that the financial support is designed to empower people to make choices for themselves, whether it’s buying building materials, paying school fees, restarting a small trade, or addressing medical needs.

Dr. Mortoti stressed that the donation is not charity, but a responsibility shared by leaders, businesses, and fellow citizens.

He appealed to the government, private sector, and NGOs to join hands in supporting the affected communities, emphasizing that there is still much work to be done. He also called for psychological support for victims and investment in preventive systems for future disasters.

To the beneficiaries, Dr. Mortoti urged them to use the token wisely and let it be a step toward restoration.

He encouraged them to maximize productivity and profitability, and to share their joy with others. To the media, organizing team, chiefs, and local leaders, he expressed gratitude for their support and partnership.

In conclusion, Dr. Mortoti’s speech was a call to action, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility and community support in the face of disaster. Piwak Natural Health’s donation is a testament to the company’s commitment to supporting the affected communities and promoting hope and resilience. As the country moves forward, it is essential that we work together to rebuild and restore the lives of those affected by the floods.
