703
Mr. Ekow Awudzi, joint taskforce  of Inter Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining has hinted that more people are going to die at Tontokrom, a mining community in the Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana as a result of illegal mining activities which is at its highest peak in the area.

According to him, people in the area are exposed to numerous ‘galamsey’ pits which restrict free movement in the community.
He was of the view that, sooner or later more people are going to die because the ‘Galamsey’ pits in the area are too alarming and very disgusting which may cause more harm to residents in the area .
He dared kwame Sefa Kai, the host to mark it on his wall if death is not going to strike the people of Tontokrom as a result of the illegal mining.

He attributed the woes of Tontokrom to the chief of the area as he is actively involve in illegal mining.
